Art Mob Hobart Tasmania - Founding Members Exhibition

Art Mob Aboriginal Fine Art Gallery in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia launched its online exhibition ttiled "Founding Members Exhibition - Lockhart River Art Gang" on 8 March 2024. The Aboriginal community of Lockhart River is located on the east coast of Cape York, Far North Queensland. It is 850 KM North of Cairns. In 1995 some of the young community members decided to brighten up their lives with new forms of artistic expression.  These 24 young artists became known as the Lockhart River Art Gang and went on to attract global attention with their exhibition "Our Way: Contemporary Aboriginal Art from Lockhart River" at the Queensland Art Gallery in 2007.
