GCBF awards funding for new car and computers

In February 2019, Lockhart River Arts Indigenous Corporation applied for funding from Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) through the Queensland Attorney-General and Minister for Justice. The GCBF awards funding to not-for-profit community groups to enhance their capacity to provide services, leisure activities and opportunities for Queensland communities. Yvette D’ath MP, Attorney-General and Minister for Justice sent  letter to the Corporation on 4 July 2019 confirming the department's approval on the funding application. The approved funding is for the purchase of a new dual cab 4WD vehicle and new computers. It is not easy to obtain funds through competitive process and the Corporation thanks the GCBF and minister for the approval which the Arts Centre will put to accountable and good use to deliver its wide range of community engagement programs on an annual cycle.
