Lockhart River Arts Indigenous Corporation receives current funding from the Australian Government through the Department of Communications and the Arts under the Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support (IVAIS) program.

The Corporation also receives current funding from the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland's Backing Indigenous Arts initiative (BIA) program and the Regional Arts Development Fund (IRADF).

Lockhart River Arts Centre had a succesfull outcome at the 2018 Cairns Indigenous Art Fair. The Art Centre sold +16% above its gross sales at the 2017 Cairns Indigenous Art Fair. The sales contributes to a very tight market environment. Artists Thelma Hobson, Evelyn Omeenyo and Irene Namok represeted the entire group at the Art Fair. Lockhart River thanks sincerely Arts Queensland under its BIA program for funding assistance, Skytrans Airlines for providing 3 free return tickets for the artists to travel from Lockhart River-Cairns- Lockhart River and free freight pre-art fair.

Team Lockhart River arrived in Darwin on 7 August 2018 for the 2018 Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair at the Darwin Convention Centre. The art fair is from 10 to 12 August 2018. On 8 August 2018, artist Josiah Omeenyo attended a 1 day symposium organized by the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation for Indigenous Australian Curators. Josiah spoke highly of the symposium after its conclusion. The first day of sales opens at 9:30am on 10 August.
